Alison was trained in adolescent secure mental health wards in the NHS, treating patients with severe depression and self harming behaviours, eating disorders, personality disorders, and psychosis. She has also worked in special education settings with children with challenging behaviour and learning difficulties, and prior to coming to Hong Kong she ran a group and individual counselling function for North London Rape Crisis and Women's Aid Refuges.

Alison specialises in treating trauma, and in particular diagnosis of complex post traumatic disorder related to negative early life experiences. Alison has training in psychodynamic approaches as well as CBT and EMDR. Alison works with individuals, couples and families treating a range of conditions from stress and anxiety related disorders to depression, bereavement and loss, and eating disorders.

Alison is also an HCPC licensed and accredited therapist who works with children and adolescents with a range of conditions from anxiety disorders, depression, bereavement and family breakups. Having trained in adolescent secure mental health wards in the UK, Alison is accustomed to working with adolescent suicidal ideation and self harm, as well eating disorders and wider mental health diagnoses.

Alison has training in both individual and family approaches and can offer counselling to all members of the family. As a licensed professional, Alison works ethically and professionally managing any potential risk factors according to HCPC guidelines.
