Karen is a registered speech-language pathologist practicing in Hong Kong. She is deeply passionate about serving the aphasia and dysphagia communities. Karen provides comprehensive, client-centered assessment and intervention services for adults and children with speech, language, communication, and swallowing needs, utilizing the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) framework to guide her practice. Karen is fluent in Cantonese and English, and has functional proficiency in Mandarin.
Prior to her career as a speech-language pathologist, Karen worked closely with students with special educational needs (SEN) in the student support department at Direct Subsidy Scheme school.
In addition to her clinical work, she also conducts research focused on the aphasia community, such as validating functional communication outcomes after stroke and developing aphasia treatment protocols.
