Frances Occhipinti is a specialist in children's development, well- being and learning, having worked in this area for over 20 years. She has a vast range of child assessment, diagnosis and treatment experience gained in private practice, educational and health settings.
Frances provides tailored and comprehensive psycho-educational assessments using standardised and internationally recognised assessment tools. She is skilled and experienced in the assessment of children, adolescents and adults in the areas of specific learning concerns, giftedness, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Frances also treats a range of emotional, social, and behavioural concerns. In therapy, Frances takes a cognitive behavioural and skills-based approach, working with children and adults in areas such as anxiety management, social and communication skills, problem solving, behavioural concerns, emotion management, and time management/organisation.
Frances is certified to administer the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-Second Edition (ADOS-2) and the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R), which are the gold standard diagnostic instruments for autism. She has served as Queensland Coordinator for the APS Child, Adolescent and Family Interest Group and is an ongoing member. Frances is a member of the Psychologists in Schools and Intellectual Disability; Autism Interest Groups. Frances is also an International Affiliate of the Canadian ADHD Resource Alliance (CADDRA).
